SimplSeq, the company dedicated to simplifying the genomic sequencing workflow process, has retained digital marketing agency Mind & Mill of Riverside California to provide creative and strategic marketing services.
“We have spent the last several months in stealth mode,” stated SimplSeq CEO John Powers. “We are about ready to unveil our company and technology and it’s always important to put your best foot forward. After talking with several agencies, we felt that Mind & Mill gets our culture and mission.”
SimplSeq has developed a proprietary process to prepare biological samples for next generation genomic sequencing processing that will save thousands of labs a great deal of time and expense. While the time and cost of the sequencing of DNA and RNA has dropped substantially, the process of extracting DNA or RNA from a biological sample, purifying it, and making enough copies to get a good read has basically remained the same.
Until now, much of the effort to accelerate the traditional sample prep process has been focused on how to do all the same steps faster. Incorporating robotics into the process is a good example of this approach.
SimplSeq’s new approach is completely different. It eliminates many of the steps involved and simplifies the process immensely. The benefit to labs is faster turnaround time, lower costs, better accuracy and the elimination of the need for specialized training for lab technicians.
“SimplSeq has internally validated our process and is preparing a third patent right now,” explained Powers. “Once that is filed, we plan to begin contacting select genome centers to conduct external validations. After that is complete, we can begin marketing our first product and will need the marketing collateral that Mind & Mill is creating.”
